Works - Norogawa Hirogawara Information Center Mountain Info Visualizer

The Norogawa Hirogawara Information Center, an information facility operated by the Ministry of the Environment located in Norogawa Hirogawara—a base for climbing Mt. Kitadake—provides the latest information for hikers, including trail conditions and weather updates. As part of this project, to enhance hikers’ safety and convenience, we integrated multiple state-of-the-art systems—including interactive digital signage and projection mapping—to provide real-time hiking and weather updates and present information clearly using a mountain model.

Mountain Model + Projection Mapping

Designed with projection mapping onto a mountain model so that hikers can assess the situation at a glance. Data such as the current movement of rain clouds, wind direction, and wind speed is acquired in real time and projected as images onto the mountain model in front of them. This allows hikers to intuitively understand information—such as “Where on the mountain are the rain clouds?” "From which direction is the wind blowing?" simply by looking at the model. These advanced visualization technologies provide powerful support for climbers in selecting safe routes.

Seasonal Footage & Highlights

We also project stunning seasonal footage and highlights along hiking trails. This helps deepen your understanding of the mountainous areas and serves as a useful reference when planning your hikes.
