News - Our Project Recognized at the 60th Japan Sign Design Awards and Receives the Kanto Regional Design Award

We are pleased to announce that “Norogawa Hirogawara Information Center – CLIMBER’S GATE LOUNGE,” a project in which DVI Gratri Engineering participated, has been selected as a recognized work in the 60th Japan Sign Design Awards and has also received the Kanto Regional Design Award. The Japan Sign Design Awards are organized by the Japan Sign Design Association (SDA), an organization established in 1965 to promote and advance sign design in Japan. Held annually, the SDA Awards are Japan’s only award program dedicated exclusively to sign design. The scope of the awards extends beyond conventional signage and wayfinding to include environmental graphics, spatial communication, information design, and other approaches that connect people, information, and physical environments. The CLIMBER’S GATE LOUNGE project was developed to provide visitors and hikers in the Southern Alps of Japan with mountain, weather, and environmental information in a more intuitive and accessible way. DVI Gratri Engineering was involved in the design, development, and implementation of several digital elements of the project, including projection mapping onto a 3D topographic model, real-time weather-data visualization systems, digital content, and custom software. By combining physical terrain models, projected visuals, and real-time digital information, the system goes beyond simply displaying data. It is designed to help visitors understand changing mountain conditions visually and use that information to support their decisions before entering the mountains. We are very pleased that the project has been recognized not only as a selected work in the Japan Sign Design Awards, but also with the Kanto Regional Design Award. DVI Gratri Engineering will continue to combine audiovisual technology, software, and digital content to create environments that connect people, information, and spaces in meaningful and intuitive ways.
