News - 2026 GOOD DESIGN AWARD – Project Recognition Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the Norogawa Hirogawara Information Center – CLIMBER'S GATE LOUNGE, a project in which Gratri Engineering played a key role, has received the 2026 GOOD DESIGN AWARD in Japan. Established in 1957 and organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP), the GOOD DESIGN AWARD is one of Japan's most established design recognition programs. It recognizes outstanding designs across a wide range of fields, including products, architecture, software, systems, and services, with an emphasis on improving people's lives and society through design. Located in the Southern Japanese Alps, CLIMBER'S GATE LOUNGE serves as an information hub for hikers, providing intuitive access to essential information such as hiking routes, weather conditions, and the natural attractions of the surrounding mountains. The facility features several interactive digital exhibits, including: - Mountain Info Visualizer – Projects weather information onto a three-dimensional terrain model, helping visitors understand mountain conditions and seasonal changes. - Trail Info Vision – Provides hiking route information, weather forecasts, safety alerts, and other essential information to support informed decisions before hiking. - Hiker Live Guide – Showcases photos and experiences shared by hikers, allowing visitors to discover the attractions of the Southern Japanese Alps. For this project, Gratri Engineering was responsible for a broad range of work, including digital content production, software development, AV system engineering and design, equipment selection, system integration, installation, and commissioning. By integrating hardware, software, and digital content, we helped create an interactive information experience that makes complex information more accessible, intuitive, and engaging for visitors. We are proud to have contributed to this award-winning project. Building on this achievement, Gratri Engineering will continue to combine audiovisual technologies, software development, and creative content production to deliver innovative and meaningful experiences.
